The rain and snow conditions
may develop in many different ways during the year. In advance, when it
still is early winter, we do not know what will happen during the year.
We may describe the sequentially revealed "water scenarios" this way:

Over time, the optimal harvest may depend on the scenario. The total harvest volume constraint (for the complete year) may however not be violated.

Some roundwood volumes are first transported to places closer to the mills. From there, the roundwood may be taken to the mills during all possible rain, snow, water and road conditions.
